Lygos Launches Soltellus™ Polymer, a High-Performing, Sustainable Solution that Enables Companies to Create Superior, Eco-friendly Products

BERKELEY, Calif. – July 11, 2023 – Today, Lygos, Inc., announced the launch of Soltellus, a line of multi-functional, water-soluble polymers for home care, agronomy, and water treatment. Soltellus provides proven performance in target applications and is a nontoxic and biodegradable alternative to persistent polyacrylate and polycarboxylate polymers.

Home Care – Prevents stain redeposition and enhances the soil- and stain-fighting power of laundry detergents. Reduces spotting and filming of glassware when incorporated into dishwasher detergents.

Agronomy – Increases crop yields by up to 10%, improving nutrient uptake and promoting soil health, while reducing fertilizer run-off and improving irrigation water quality. 

Water Treatment – Inhibits scale build-up and corrosion in high salinity water by as much as 90% in reverse osmosis membranes, cooling towers, heat exchangers, and oilfield production, while eliminating the need for downstream treatment and minimizing harm to the environment.
